The Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd (FSC) is Fiji’s leading sugar milling company and the largest in the South Pacific. Established by an act of parliament in 1972, FSC took over milling activities from South Pacific Sugar Mills Ltd (SPSM) and Colonial Sugar Refining Co. Ltd (CSR) in 1973. FSC operations include three strategically located sugar mills: two on Viti Levu in Lautoka and Rarawai (Ba) and a third in Labasa on Vanua Levu. During the crushing season, which typically runs from May to December, FSC is Fiji’s largest private sector employer, with a workforce of up to 1,800 individuals. This seasonal employment highlights FSC’s vital role in supporting the region’s economy and providing significant job opportunities.
