Rarawai Mill Reopens Tomorrow Following Successful Restoration Works
The Fiji Sugar Corporation Limited (FSC) confirms that the Rarawai Mill will reopen tomorrow, 5th December 2025, following the fire incident that occurred at the powerhouse on 17th September 2025. Comprehensive restoration, safety assessments and operational readiness checks have been completed, ensuring the facility is fully prepared to resume safe and efficient operations.
All major maintenance work arising from the dfincident has been finalised. Remaining minor tasks have been scheduled and will not affect the mill’s start-up or ongoing crushing activities. FSC’s engineering and technical teams have worked in close coordination with the relevant authorities to meet all safety and operational requirements ahead of reopening.
Farmers are advised that normal cane delivery to the Rarawai Mill may resume from tomorrow. FSC field staff will communicate with the gangs and growers supplying cane to Rarawai Mill on further details. FSC remains committed to supporting growers and ensuring continuity of supply for the remainder of the crushing season.
FSC acknowledges the cooperation and patience of farmers, lorry drivers, industry partners and the wider Ba community during the temporary closure. The Corporation remains focused on maintaining operational stability and delivering a smooth and consistent milling operations going forward.
